Beauty at the British Grand Prix
A special report from Silverstone, and how beauty and wellness brands are gearing up for F1 action. PLUS! PRAI X Olivia Rubin, at M&S.

Happy new week, everyone! I hope you had a good weekend (and, for American friends, a great 4th!). We spent the weekend at the British Grand Prix at Silverstone, which celebrated its 75th year (Formula 1 racing all began at the circuit).
So I went from rushing to catch Rachel Zegler belting out Don’t Cry … from That Balcony in The West End last weekend, to trying desperately to catch Lewis Hamilton zooming past in a blur of Ferrari rosso (scroll down for my very poor video, and confirmation that I won’t be launching a sports Substack anytime soon).
It was a fun, intense, action-packed weekend. I got over-excited and impulse-bought a Ferrari umbrella at the F1 merch stall at the first sign of drizzle (I don’t know why I am NEVER prepared for the inevitable Silverstone downpours). Suffice to say, I looked nothing like as all-weather chic as Felicity Jones, and other celebs who graced the grid walk on race day (pics to follow!).
Silverstone was SUPER-busy, all weekend. It seems to get busier every year, thanks, in no small part, to the success of Netflix’s hit Drive To Survive, behind-the-pit-wall docu-series, and the new F1 Academy, devoted to the female motorsport. Plus the Pitt Effect.
Read on for more on how the beauty world is getting in on the F1 action, and a cool new fashion/beauty collab from M&S.
So, it’s LIGHTS OUT, AND AWAY WE GO!
What was new to Silverstone this year was the presence of a beauty pop-up, from Elemis—the iconic British spa and skin care brand, which inked its partnership with the Aston Martin Aramco Formula One Team, its first Official Skincare Partner, earlier this year. The team invited me to check out the shiny new Airstream-turned-ELEMIS Skin Spa, which was parked at the Pop-Up Hotel in the inner track of the circuit.
