Have a gorgeous weekend!
Sultry eyes, Estée Lauder's new Advanced Night Repair Eye Lift + Sculpt, Space NK's London flagship, Rhode's Lemontini, and more.
Happy weekend! What have you got planned? We’ve got friends arriving within the hour, Will is doing the supermarket dash, and there might have been some midnight panic-cleaning last night, which gave me a great opportunity to put a hot new addition to Estée Lauder’s Advanced Night Repair range to the ultimate test, before its launch next week. Read on for more on that, plus other sultry summer newness, and a dose of Midlife Style In The Wild!
Let’s go!

Do you wear eyeliner? I don’t, usually, but I love a smoky eye on others—good for the heat, when any melting looks intentional! I’m working on my smudging skills (watch this space for a Victoria Beckham kajal pencil post, coming soon).
How lovely is this sultry, smoky-eyed look on Helena?

The makeup artist here is Sofia Schwarzkopf-Tilbury, Charlotte’s niece and a celeb makeup artist in her own right. A great example of how focusing attention on one feature— in this case, the strong eyes are balanced with a neutral, nude shimmer lip—never fails.
Back to the Estée Lauder newness.
The new *Advanced Night Repair Eye Lift + Sculpt is the latest addition to the iconic range (I wrote about Kristen Bell becoming the newest ambassador back in March).
It’s launching next week, nationwide, and I’ve only been using it for the last few days, but I can honestly say I really like it already—in terms of texture, the way it glides on, and I feel like it has made the skin around my eyes already a little fresher-looking, and smoother. I’ve been using it at night, in tandem with the *OG ANR serum, and nothing else—because I thought I’d go all-in with the whole ANR experience.
To be honest, I’ve never really been an eye cream person, possibly because I’m a bit lazy, but also my eyes are pretty sensitive, and will puff up at any opportunity, and have (obviously not the desired effect). The exception, actually, is the Jones Road Eye Cream, which is so light and fresh— more of a gel, really—and great below concealer, under the eyes.
So, I like that this is a milky-serum formula (it’s billed as a cream, but the texture is somewhere between the two). So far, I’m impressed. I’ll report back in a few weeks.
