Happy Saturday, and HAPPY SPRING!!

The brightest of welcomes to all those who’ve joined us over the last few days.

How has your week been? Our clocks have yet to change here in the UK—still another week!—which has caught me out a few times with my US writing deadlines (one less hour to procrastinate/put the kettle on again in the morning!).

As always, paid subscribers receive The Weekend Edit every Saturday (the first edition of the month is free for all), all weekday posts, PLUS access to a year’s worth of midlife beauty, style and wellness in the archives, and the MBE Chat.

The colour of spring

Helena Christensen invited Vogue Japan into her New York apartment, for its April issue (pictured above).

“A home is very special and deeply personal, a sort of visual extension of who you are,” she shared on Instagram a few days ago. “My home is absolutely a manifestation of what it feels like to be inside my mind (and yeah, it’s very colorful, a bit disorganized and there’s basically just a lot going on).”

Helena’s home, like her wardrobe (she wore her own clothes for the shoot), is a truly eclectic mix of colour, styles, and vintage pieces which are meaningful to her.

Helena’s makeup was done by New York City-based makeup artist Maria Ortega, using Hourglass Cosmetics, and her hair was styled by Dawson Hiegert. I’ve mentioned it before, but I LOVE Helena’s cut, the way the layers work with her natural hair texture, and the face-framing fringe.

Dawson also worked with Helena on a recent campaign for Rolla's Jeans, this time creating a smoother look, but still demonstrating the power of bangs.
